Commission of Canada, Lili-Anna applies her 30 years of global, national, and local experience to one of society\u2019s most urgent priorities: reducing barriers to quality mental health care through evidence-informed policy change and collaborative system transformation.<\/p>\n<p>Lili-Anna\u2019s life-long commitment to community service has taken her from classrooms in Malawi to finding transportation solutions to improve access to rural health facilities in Burkina Faso to the humanitarian frontlines in Bosnia and Herzegovina. These experiences shaped her understanding of the critical importance of human rights, which she later championed as Executive Director of Amnesty International France.<\/p>\n<p>Returning to Canada, she combined her international experience with home-grown approaches \u2013 guiding community agencies like the YWCA Montr\u00e9al \u2013 before expanding her impact during an eight-year tenure at Centraide\/United Way of Greater Montreal. It was through these years in particular where her engagement and interest in removing barriers to mental health services deepened. Most recently, as President and CEO of the McConnell Foundation, she directed philanthropic resources toward innovative, community-led solutions for Canada\u2019s most pressing societal concerns.<\/p>\n<p>As a lifelong learner, Lili-Anna\u2019s work with equity-seeking groups enriched her conviction that effective strategies arise from the lived experience of those closest to the context.<\/p>\n<p>Inspired by Indigenous teachings, Lili-Anna works to build relationships based on trust and advance sustainable change. Her contributions have been recognized with knighthood in the National Order of Quebec, an honorary doctorate from the University of Montreal, and as a Fellow of Engineers Canada, among other notable distinctions.<\/p>\n<p>Lili-Anna also earned an engineering degree from \u00c9cole Polytechnique de Montr\u00e9al, before completing graduate studies in management at McGill University and political science at the Sorbonne University in Paris.<\/p>\n<p>Her belief in building community through volunteerism remains a driving force for Lili-Anna and she continues to serve on several boards and committees, including the board of the Roncalli International Foundation, and as a member of the National Executive Committee for The Governor General\u2019s Canadian Leadership Conference. Her past appointments include the board of Polytechnique Montr\u00e9al, the Advisory Board of the Future Skills Centre of Canada, and the Independent Advisory Board for Supreme Court of Canada Judicial Her career includes significant experience managing policy and research initiatives, as well as leading advocacy campaigns, with over a decade in federal, territorial, and municipal politics.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to joining the MHCC, Leanne served as Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives at the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM), where she led member and stakeholder engagement efforts, oversaw governance and supported strategic planning at the executive level. She also served as a senior member of FCM\u2019s Policy and Public Affairs team for eight His people-first approach, combined with his experience in strategy, sales, marketing, and innovation, has driven success in the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Shane most recently served as the vice-president of social enterprise and strategic partnerships for the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, where he established a business-to-business services division, leveraged technology-based innovation, and championed strategic partnerships to diversify revenue streams and drive growth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-CA\">He previously served as the vice-president of social enterprise for the Canadian Hearing Society, where he introduced a structured sales approach to drive growth of hearing health care and assistive technology. Prior to his not-for-profit work, Shane honed his skills in the consumer packaged goods (Kraft Foods, Borden, Georgia-Pacific) and pharmaceutical industries (Bristol-Myers Squibb, Mylan).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Shane holds a master\u2019s degree in business administration from the Schulich school of business at York University and an undergraduate degree from Western University.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Passionate about helping people live the lives they choose; he believes that balance in life is critical for our physical and mental well-being. In his spare time, Shane enjoys playing sports (albeit, more recreational now), spending time with family and friends, volunteering at a large animal rescue facility, and (optimistically\/naively) cheering for Toronto sports Shauna has supported large-scale system transformation in many roles including the VP Strategic Partnerships and Communications at Stepped Care Solutions and the CEO of Frayme, a national knowledge to action organization that built networks across the country to redefine and mobilize evidence. She spent many years at CAMH working with communities, Ministries, and clients and families to implement integrated systems of service including; integrated youth services (IYS hubs), structured psychotherapy, and measurement-based care solutions. The collective momentum of partnerships remains central to the work she does as a Federal and global leader for the Global Leadership Exchange and a main driving force behind her commitment to co-designing systems of service.<\/p>\n<p>Her expertise in developing person-centered models of service, equity-based frameworks, purpose-driven evidence, and fostering collaboration across complex networks is situated within her passion for working together to improve health and well-being for all. Shauna holds advanced degrees in political science, strategic communications, international affairs, and is currently engaged in a Masters of Nonprofit and Philanthropic Leadership.
